About us
Built round one awkward number
Most agencies will not tell you their margin. We put ours on the homepage, and the rest of how we work follows from that decision.
Why we price this way
A percentage margin quietly puts an agency on the wrong side of its client. Every pound taken off the worker is a pound the agency keeps, and every pound added to the rate earns the agency more without doing anything differently. Nobody sets out to be dishonest. The arithmetic just points that way, and after a few years it stops being noticed.
A flat fee removes the incentive entirely. We earn £25 whether an operative is on £120 a day or £260, which means we have nothing to gain from talking you down and nothing to gain from talking you up. The conversation stops being a negotiation and starts being a question about what the job actually needs.
We supply construction trades and labour, temporary and permanent, across the UK. That is the whole of what we do. We used to work across several sectors and we stopped, because being adequate at five things is worth less to a site manager than being reliable at one.
How we work
A price you can check
A margin you cannot see is a margin you cannot argue with. Ours is £25 a day per person, written down next to the pay rate, on every booking. Nothing about that is clever, it is just harder to do than hiding it.
Pay is the quality dial
Good operatives choose where they work. If a rate is too low the people who take it are the people who had no other option, and that shows up on site within a week. We would rather tell a client that than fill an order we know will go wrong.
Turning up is the job
Most of what a labour agency is judged on happens before eight in the morning. Whether the right number of people arrive, carded, at the right gate. Everything else is commentary.
We would rather lose the order
If we cannot cover a job properly we will say so. Sending somebody unsuitable to avoid an awkward phone call costs you a day and costs us the relationship, and the second one takes far longer to rebuild.
Want to try us on one order?
Most clients start with a single booking to see whether we do what we say. That is a sensible way to buy labour and we would suggest it ourselves.
